Admission Arrangements for 2016 2017

All admissions to Ford Primary School, including in-year admissions, are dealt with through a common application form submitted to the Local Authority. The admissions procedure to Plymouth schools is clearly explained in the ‘Starting School in Plymouth’ parents’ guide that is published by Plymouth City Council.

For children looking to make an in-year admission, further information about application procedures can be found on the Plymouth Schools’ Admissions website at http://web.plymouth.gov.uk/inyearadmissions.htm and in the ‘In-Year School Admissions Parents’ guide’. (see below)

The Local Authority uses the following criteria for admissions:

  • Children living in the school’s designated area with a sibling who will be attending the school at the time of admission.
  • Other children living in the school’s designated area.
  • Children living outside the school’s designated area, but with a sibling who will be attending the school at the time of admission.
  • Other children living outside the school’s designated area.

Admissions are ultimately the responsibility of Plymouth City Council and in case of doubt, the Education Section at the Area Office will advise you.

Nursery Places at Ford Primary School

We are very lucky to have our own state funded Nursery here at Ford.  We take children who are 3 years old up until they start school.  We have 18 places in the morning (8.30am - 11.30am) and 18 places in the afternoon (12.30pm - 3.30pm).

If you would like a place, the admissions for our Nursery are dealt with by our school office, so please pop in for a prospectus and a chat.
