Talk Boost is a language intervention for children aged 4-7 years and was developed by The Communication Trust and I CAN. The intervention is delivered by specially trained teaching assistants across KS1 when needed. Sessions for groups of four children run 3 times a week for 10 weeks, with linked whole class activities.
It boosts the language and communication skills of children who have not had the opportunity to develop their language skills. Each session draws on four activities that cover the key components of language: Listening and Attention, Vocabulary, Sentence Building, Storytelling and Conversations. It can improve communication skills by 12- 18 months across the 10 weeks.
